Grade C or R
(adding Durablock/BioAm to a grade C nano-Tex fabric below makes it an R grade)
Environmentally Friendly
Nano-Tex® Spill Resistance Fabrics are an environmentally friendly alternative for the high-performance fabric requirements of
healthcare, hospitality and other commercial upholstery applications. These Nano-Tex® fabrics meet environmental, health and
safety standards mandated by the EPA, OSHA and CPSC. Evaluated by authorized, independent organizations, these products
are found to be safe in required categories of skin sensitivity, toxicity, environmental safety and personal health.
Nano-Tex® Spills Resistance Performance
Innovative nanotechnology aligns and permanently attaches fluoropolymers on the original fibers for optimum "feel" as well as
high-performance stain resistance. On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 = heavy stain, 5 = no stain), Nano-Tex® Resists Spills fabrics rated 4.5
to 5.0 on all 9 test materials. These include: iodine, blood, urine, ink, hot coffee, room temperature coffee, red wine, mustard
and salad oil.
Durability Improvement
The addition of nanotechnology has been found to increase both the abrasion-resistance (Wyzenbek testing) as well as the
seam slippage performance of original fibers. Therefore, your commercial fabric is improved by Nano-Tex® application. The
Nano-Tex® process also includes addition of a latex backing to the original fabric.
Flammability Performance
Nano-Tex® Spill Resistance Fabrics remain neutral when tested with the following test methods: CAL 117, NFPA 260 and UFAC.
Therefore, you don’t sacrifice flame resistance while gaining the advantages of Nano-Tex®.
DuraBlock™ Liquid Barrier
For even more capability, Nano-Tex® Spill Resistance Fabrics can feature a DuraBlock™ Liquid Barrier. Applied to the reverse side
of the original fabric (on top of the latex backing), DuraBlock™ has exceeded 13psi water entry pressure, whereas sitting exerts
only 3-5psi and cleaning exerts only 5-9psi. Thus, the fabric hinders any moisture's ability to penetrate to the cushioning.
DuraBlock™ also has excellent breathability characteristics for optimum comfort. Breathability is measured via Moisture Vapor
Transfer Rate (MVTR), and Nano-Tex® Resists Spills with DuraBlock™ ranges from 3,538 to 4,464 g/m2/day. (The range is due
to fabric and color density of original fabric).
BioAM
BioAm antimicrobial technology protects against microbes and reduces odors and stains caused by microbes. The finish is
friendly to the environment, containing no arsenic or heavy metals, and is effective even after multiple washings.
